The wide footprint of reinforced concrete bell bottom piers
Bell bottom piers have are named for the bell-shaped bottom or “foot” that provides a wide area of support for the pier. They’re typically built by excavating a hole, pouring wet concrete and inserting rebar to reinforce the pier.
Bell bottom piers used to be the norm and are still an effective method to repair foundations in many areas of Texas and Oklahoma. They provide adequate support and stability for concrete slab foundations by resisting the forces of soil movement, but the technique can be complex, time-consuming and more expensive.
Ask your Church Foundation Repair advisor if bell bottom piers are the right solution for your home.
